Mission Statement: The lector has a crucial role in the liturgy; that of proclaiming the word of God to the congregation. As much as possible, lectors are assigned to the Mass of their choice. A prospective lector will meet with the Lector Coordinator in the church in order to practice reading and to go over procedures. The most important requirements for a lector are commitment, preparation, technical skill related to microphone use, and personal communications skills.

There are two lector workshops held per year, typically in the Advent and Lenten seasons. Attendance at these workshops is highly encouraged and appreciated.
